Language Arts/Integration
Students who are in the Enrichment Program at Hancock Elementary School range from first through fifth grades. Often times, we take the learning that is going on in the classroom and extend it, or "go deeper". Concepts that the students are currently learning in Social Studies or Science are jumping off points for us to explore further.
Third grade students were learning about Native Americans in their classrooms. We further explored this by creating Native American shelters, learning some of their language, writing point of view letters, creating Glogs, power points, and illustrating the types of clothing they wore.
